Our History

The York County Quilters Guild (YCQG) is a vibrant community of quilting enthusiasts brought together by a shared love of the craft. Founded in 1995 with 71 members, the guild was created to encourage, teach, and promote the art of quilting through fellowship, monthly meetings, educational presentations, demonstrations, and engaging activities.

Over the years, our guild has grown both in size and spirit. In 2013, YCQG became a registered non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, officially incorporating as the York County Quilters Guild, Inc. At that time, membership had grown to 167 active members.

Our Mission

To stimulate interest in the history of quilts, promote the art of quilt making through educational programs and demonstrations, and provide meaningful service to the community through outreach activities.

Through our Outreach program, members share their time and talents by creating and donating items such as quilts, tote bags, and pillowcases to bring comfort and support to those in need. Our Outreach efforts currently serve Family Promise, Defend the Fatherless, and the Fresenius Dialysis Center. If you would like to learn more about the program or share your love of quilting through Outreach, please contact Diane Quirk, Outreach Chair.
