Outreach

The Outreach Community committee serves an important role.

The committee organizes quilts for various organizations.  These organizations use these quilts to bring a smile to a cancer patient or to wrap a small child in comfort.

Would you like to share your love of quilting with a needy child or hospice victim? Contact our Outreach Committee to see how you can help.

Cuddle Quilts

One of our most visible and most appreciated community service projects is the Cuddle Quilts made for the York County Children's Attention Home.  This project seeks to provide children with a warm quilt of their very own. What better way to let a child know they are loved?

The guild accepts quilts in all sizes, from crib/nap size April Calendar Imageup to bed size (some of the youth served may be in their early teens).  This is a good way to use those leftover blocks from previous quilt projects or try new techniques. Occasionally a workshop will be scheduled to get together and make Cuddle Quilts for the Children's Home.

Hospice & Community Care

Hospice & Community Care is a non-profit organization dedicated to caring for people who are terminally ill in a special way. Our focus is on treating the person, not the disease. We provide on-going support for families and our community. Since 1985, we have been serving patients and their families in York, Chester, Lancaster, Cherokee, Union and Fairfield Counties.  The York County Quilters create and donate quilts for hospice patients.
