Block Exchange
We have a Block Challenge open for our guild members to participate in monthly. We have a special block decided by the Block Exchange Chairman that we will have for sale for a nominal price of $1.00. It will usually consist of one piece of fabric that will be consistent for all the blocks so they will coordinate with each other. According as to how many are turned in we will have a drawing for one or more people to win the blocks after two months of selling the "kit". On the third month a drawing will be made. Sometimes the challenges will over-lap each other and instead of 4 challenges a year we will have 5 or 6.
For the past two years we have had a special challenge for prizes of the best small quilt turned in. This small quilt will be a finished product of a special theme chosen by the Chairman and the fabric will usually cost the participant $2.00. At the due date to be turned in all members and guest present will vote for the one they like best and the first, second and third place winners will win some nice prizes.
Background fabric and Size 8 Pearl Cotton thread (red color #498) provided for $1. Please see Gail Moss at the meetings.
