The monthly meetings for the York County Quilter’s are held on the third Monday of each month at the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill. Occasionally, meetings will be re-scheduled for different evenings due to scheduling conflicts, but these changes are listed in the Guild newsletter, By a Thread . . .

Location: New Life Free Methodist Church at the Shiland Hills shopping Center

Directions to New Life Free Methodist Church:

Shiland Hills shopping center is at the intersection of Celanese Rd (Highway 161) and India Hook Rd. It is on the LEFT as you approach the intersection on Celanese from I-77 and Covenant church. You can turn at any of several places – between the tire store and Shiland Family Practice or on either side of the Burger King.
Omni Gym is at the left as you face the shopping center, directly behind the tire store. The Vitamin Depot is on the right, directly behind the Burger King. New Life Free Methodist Church is near the right side, next to Huntington Learning Center.

Member Check In and Door Prizes

Your first stop should be the membership table. It’s hard to miss, as it is placed right at the main entrance to the meeting room.  Sign in and be sure to put your name in the basket for a chance at the door prizes. We encourage and welcome guests and visitors at our general meetings.

Meet & Greet

The meeting is open from 6:30 pm until 7:00 pm for members to meet new quilters, greet old friends and visit the  refreshment table.  Take the opportunity to sit at a table with people you don't usually sit with and enjoy getting to know them. 

Name Tags

All members are asked to wear a nametag during Guild meetings. When you join the guild, you have 3 months to create your own name tag.  If after 3 months you arrive at a meeting without a name tag you will be 'fined' .25 cents.  All the collected fines are given to the library fund. 

Ways & Means

The Ways & Means chairperson will be available at each monthly meeting and has available for sale a variety of items with the York County Quilters logo, including pins, Denim-shirts, car decals, and bags.

Guild Library

The Guild library maintains an extensive collection of quilting books, quilting templates, periodicals, and quilting novels for the benefit of Guild members. The library “operates” on meeting nights prior to the beginning of the business meeting. Books are checked out at one meeting, returned at the next meeting.

Business

The president will call the meeting to order at approximately 7:00 p.m. At this time, she will ask the Vice President of Programs to introduce the guest speaker.  After the conclusion of the program the committee chairs and anyone else with announcements for the membership will share their news/information.

Door Prizes

Next on the program, the membership chairpersons will announce how many people we have attending and introduce the visitors and announce any new members who have joined.  Next they draw for door prizes.

Show & Tell

Show & Tell ends the night with a great display of member talent.  This is your chance to share something you are proud of with people who will really appreciate your effort!
